I’ve been struggling with my health lately. From December 2022 to this February, I was plagued with severe joint and neuropathic pain, bleeding sores all over my mouth, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, etc, etc.

I had no appetite and lost two stone. I lost, and am still losing, hair. It seems dramatic in retrospect, but until recently, I genuinely didn’t want to live anymore. I just couldn’t see the point if all that existence had to offer me was pain.

I’m glad I can say this is in retrospect though — I’m feeling way better and I’m just SO damn grateful. Honestly. This isn’t sarcasm. Sorry, normal service to resume in due course.

I know what’s wrong with me. Finally

For months, lupus has been on the radar as a possible cause of my symptoms.

However, the wait for a diagnosis and treatment was interminable and my quality of life was decimated — I basically didn’t move off the sofa for months, which ended up causing me to develop a blood clot. Nothing like something that could travel to your brain and kill you to get you up and about, I suppose.
