As a reader and I writer, I don’t think writers owe us anything. I only get a handful of comments on my stories, but if I got hundreds I’m not sure I’d be bothered to respond to them all either.

I already don’t reply to all my comments, because I’ve had a few “bring back the death penalty!!!” comments on my true crime articles and I’d rather not engage with that, it would only end in an argument.
