Dear Millennials: please stop. You’re embarrassing yourselves
Shouldn’t you be busy live laugh loving?
Has there ever been a good time to be a Millennial? Maligned by Boomers for failing to simply “pull ourselves up by our bootstraps” after coming of age in a global recession, raked over the coals by the tabloid press for our love of avocados, and now Gen Z have come for our skinny jeans and side-partings.
The outpouring of Millennial grief and anger has, frankly, been nothing short of embarrassing. Tit-for-tat culture wars have broken out over Tik Tok and Instagram.
There has been much gnashing of teeth on Medium and even more on Facebook, arguably Millennials’ spiritual home, where people have taken to their keyboards, bashing out angry 300-word status updates about how they “don’t care if you hate my skinny jeans” — thus revealing themselves to care very much indeed.
To my fellow Millennials I would like to say this: please stop. You’re embarrassing yourselves. More importantly, you’re embarrassing me. I don’t want to be associated with a generation that’s…
