I am so sorry for your son's experience. I have a very low pain threshold and high drug tolerance, so I empathise.

However please do not minimise rape. Someone making eye contact with you is not rape. Even if you asked them to stop, it is impoliteness, not rape. When people widen the definition of rape, people stop trusting victims and convictions get even harder, because hey, was she really raped or did someone just look at her funny?
