I do not believe families have the 'right' to sit together. No one has a right to more than the seat they were assigned. Fair play if they ask to switch and you don't mind; I'd certainly entertain a polite request. But implying they're entitled to special privileges (by dint of what?) puts a bad taste in my mouth.
