I don't doubt you are English, British Exceptionalism is a thing! It's just weird to make the distinction because it clearly implies that the UK and Europe are separate concepts and they are not, unless the argument is that the Isle of Wight isn't part of the UK and Hawaii isn't part of the USA as well.
