I don’t think this is “faux” or anti-feminist. The pressure to marry is greater on women than on men, especially in India, which you don’t seem to have accounted for. And wouldn’t you look it up before you pursued it, to just to see if it existed and there was a template you could follow?

I don’t think this is particularly a feminist act and I’m not sure the woman involved claimed it to be either, but it’s doing no one any harm. It’s her life, I’m not really fussed who she wants to wed.
