I don't understand how people manage to totally misinterpret this simple phrase. It means I don't need a relationship with a man to be happy or successful. More and more women are happily single, and we're far past the time when we needed a man to pay the bills because we can work now. Very straightforward. Reading too much into doesn't help your cause.
