I hated Love in the Time of Cholera for this reason.

now them!…e. I can believe when a character meets someone for the first time and thinks they look attractive. It’s a little more difficult to wrap my mind around the fact that a ten-second chance encounter could have a character dreaming about a relationship with someone (when they don’t even know them!).

I hated Love in the Time of Cholera for this reason. Dude sees a woman across the street one time then spends literally FORTY YEARS pining for her.
