I think a lot of these issues are not exclusive to the US. The cost of childcare is crippling in the UK too and I don’t think there’s a single country where having kids wont disadvantage a woman’s career to some degree.

It’s still obviously a terrible idea to have kids in the US because you don’t get guaranteed maternity leave and you have to pay to give birth.
