I think this is the problem — people treat it as a zero sum game, when really, we can be fighting for equality for all. It's tricky, beause as you say, the situation is certainly more grave for others and I don't want to equate the minor annoyance of being too thin with the prjudice people face for being fat, but we can at least not tear others down in support of our own aims.
