I thought about selling my eggs in the US when I was younger (it's not donation over there) in the end I couldn't, because I lived in the UK during the BSE outbreak, but if I had done it I would in no way shape or form consider myself a parent.

I think it's terrible that they want to make it impossible to be anonymous — people might want to do a good thing, but not want to be parents. I certainly would have ruled MYSELF out of hawking my eggs if there had been a chance someone would turn on my doorstep one day wanting to meet me because the came from my egg.
