I'd always advocate for complimenting achievements over looks. It's not that they'll grow up to be narcissistic otherwise, it's that your feeding into the patriarchial societal idea that a woman's looks are her most imortant attribute — pretty telling no one here is asking whether they should call their sons handsome.
