I’d say that trying to make generalisations about a whole continent is so big of a task that it’s not worth doing. USians often point out the culture between say New York and Idaho is so, so different and varied, and the US is so culturally diverse you don’t need to have a passport to see new things, but then speak about a singular “European culture” which simply doesn’t exist.

At the very least, I’d stay away from sweeping statements like “most apartment buildings are very old” and “Europeans don’t have washing machines”. I don’t know how I’d function without a washing machine 🤣
