I’ve left private notes before because it was a good article that would do better for the author without the mistakes.

I rarely do these days though because I do most of my reading on the app and you can’t leave private notes on the app. Someone pointed out to me that leaving a comment that others could see pointing out an error was rude, and that’s totally true, so I won’t do that now.
