Maybe you just need to build up more of a back catalogue? I simply don’t have time to publish more than a few times a month and I don’t see my stats drop dramatically if I’m away for a week.

With followers, I like to view it as the more followers you have, the greater chance you have of getting your work seen. Which is better than curation, which doesn’t appear to do anything for my stats!
