Oh, obviously you should do that if you have a specific brief. I write for ESL speakers in my day job so I’m acutely aware of that.

I mean more specifically on Medium, or any other self-directed blog. Here, your audience is whoever you want it to be. If people don’t want to read my work because they don’t like the words I use, that’s fine, I don’t want them as readers. I’ve got authors muted because I don’t like the way they write; I could hardly expect to be treated differently myself!
