Ok, all of those words are just common or garden words in the UK except “boondoggle”, which I don’t think exists here, a fact for which I give my thanks to God every day.

More importantly though, you should never try to alter you speech to impress someone. You’ll sound like an idiot trying to force words into a conversation just because you think it’ll make you look big or clever. People care about your thoughts and ideas, not the words you use to express them.

I beg of anyone reading this not to follow this article’s advice.
