Tbf, a lot of people take comfort from knowing their loved one didn't suffer. There's a sub Reddit, Ask a Doctor, that is often people explaining the circumstances of someone's death and asking "did he suffer? I want to know he didn't suffer". It would've comforted me.

To me, that's in a different league to "it could be worse", which is a plague upon humanity.
