Thanks Matt! This case is such a rabbit hole; there's so much information I had to exclude, otherwise the article would have been far too long.

I think Van der Sloot is heavily involved as well. I lean towards her having a seizure (one of things I left out is that there was supposedly a lot of drugs circulating among the group of students out there) and he just didn't help her, but it wouldn't be surprising if it turned out he did kill her himself.

Either way, my hunch is that he knows exactly where she is. It must be torturous for her parents to have that information witheld from them.
