That’s a limited definition of the word “lucky” though. It doesn’t always mean something came to you by chance, just that you are fortunate to have that thing, regardless of whether or not you worked for it.

Like my boyfriend just said to me “you’re lucky you have a well-paid job” when we were talking about the rise in energy bills. I know he didn’t meant to imply I don’t work hard for my salary, just that it’s a fortunate position to be in.
