This would be me. The tube is its own ecosystem and you can't really understand it unless you use regularly. No one wants to chat. It's generally considered rude to disturb someone on the tube.

Whereas I was chatting to my seatmate on the bus not that long ago (though largely because she had cute dogs). It's just different.
