Wanna hear about the weirdest interview ever? I should have worried when they told me to block out at least 4 hours.
First I had to write a timed essay on the company and what I understood they did. Then I was given 5 minutes to read a report on the causes of the 2008 financial crisis and then write my own article covering the key points. It wasn't a finance company and it wasn't a writing role....
Next up, logic puzzles, legit pulled from one of those holiday puzzle books. If I got one wrong, the interviewer shouted at me. Then I had to go through a book of colour swatches and pick my favourites. It wasn't an interior design company either...
Finally I had an actual interview, which consisted of 10 minutes of the interviewer asking me my age and getting annoyed when I pointed out that was illegal.
Then, she dropped into the conversation that they did a big hiring round at this time every year because no one ever stayed longer than 12 months!
I was baffled when they offered me the job, to be honest. I turned it down.
