Who........who didn't know that the Smiths' lyrics are miserable? They're THE SMITHS. They are legendarily miserable. Paeans have been written to their misery.

Also, ironically, TIALTNGO *is* one of their more upbeat songs. It's about loving someone so much that you'd happily die so the moment you're spending with them never ends. It's melodramatic, but again it's The Smiths!
