You don't know how much your husband earns? That's weird. Though I don't get how SIL is making so much as a nurse. Punching MIL in the face must be tempting! I empathise, I could have a fabulous lifestyle in my hometown, but I'd be miserable, far happier spending my life in a small space in a big city.
